Downtown San Jose's newest highrise building, The Fey is the 13th tallest building in the city.

Excitement is brewing in Downtown San Jose as The Fey by Morro, formerly known as Garden Gate Tower, is set to to be completed next year. This soaring residential high-rise, currently the only one under construction in Downtown San Jose, promises to reshape the city's skyline with its sleek design and modern amenities.

The journey of The Fey began in 2022 with its excavation, followed by the appearance of its iconic crane about a year ago. Now, as of January 2024, the tower has reached its full height of 252 feet and 23 floors, boasting a total of 336 units of luxurious apartments.

Nestled at 600 South First Street, right next to the I-280 Freeway, The Fey has already become a prominent feature of the Downtown San Jose skyline, visible from miles away. But its impact goes beyond aesthetics. The building will mark the beginning of the vibrant SoFA neighborhood, enhancing the cultural and entertainment offerings of the area.

What sets The Fey apart is not just its height, but also its innovative design and upscale amenities. The European-style one and two-bedroom apartments may be compact, but they are complemented by elevated finishes and top-notch facilities. Residents will enjoy the convenience of a 24/7 concierge service, co-working spaces, and community lounges.

However, the crown jewel of The Fey is undoubtedly its rooftop pool and amenity deck. Complete with cabanas, a gym, a sky garden, and BBQ grills, this space offers unparalleled views of the valley and provides a perfect spot to soak up the San Jose sunshine. In fact, The Fey will be the first high-rise building in San Jose to feature a heated rooftop pool, making it a standout among its peers in the Bay Area. But The Fey isn't just about luxury living; it's also about community engagement. The ground floor will host 5,000 square feet of retail space, further enriching the streetscape of South First Street and contributing to the dynamic atmosphere of Downtown San Jose.

Behind the scenes, the project has seen its fair share of evolution. Originally planned as a 27-story tower with 290 units, a redesign last year resulted in a slightly shorter building but an increased residential capacity. Now, with 28 affordable housing units among its offerings, The Fey is poised to cater to a diverse range of residents.

The architectural vision of The Fey comes to life through the expertise of C2K Architecture, with private balconies adding depth to the building's facade. Shared amenities such as a music room, game area, fitness center, and outdoor pool deck further enhance the living experience, fostering a sense of community among residents.

As construction progresses, anticipation builds for the completion of The Fey in January 2025. With its prime location, stunning design, and unmatched amenities, this residential high-rise is set to redefine urban living in Downtown San Jose, setting a new standard for luxury and sophistication in the heart of Silicon Valley.
